History
Roman Era
The origins of Castell'Alfero date back to Roman times. Historians have come to these conclusions through the discovery of archaeological finds from the period and by studying the local toponymy.
1189
Asti governs Castell'Alfero. The fact is documented in the Astese Codex.
1386
The territory is granted to Valentina Visconti.
1616
Castell'Alfero is deeply damaged by the army of the Duke of Mantua, at war with the House of Savoy.
1643
The fief enters among the possessions of Alessandro Amico. It is thanks to the Amico family that the Castle of Castell'Alfero, home of the town hall since 1905, takes on its present appearance.

Food and wine and typical products
Callianetto, a hamlet of Castell'Alfero, is known for the quality of its Piedmontese mixed fry.
In the area it is also possible to taste magnificent wines, including Barbera, Barbera d'Asti and Freisa.
Also hosted in the hamlet is the Rock Aid Ceroankio event, while in April, through the streets of the town, the Living Via Crucis recalls the passion of Christ.
Castell'Alfero's main sport is the tambourine.
To be seen
The village is dominated by the splendid Castle of Amico Counts (Castello dei Conti Amico), also seat of the Town Hall.
In its basement is housed the 'L Ciar Museum (Museo 'L Ciar).
Moreover, worthy of a visit are the Parish Church of Saints Peter and Paul (Chiesa dei Santi Pietro e Paolo), the Church of the Most Holy Annunciation (Chiesa della Santissima Annunziata), the splendid Church of Our Lady of the Snows (Chiesa della Madonna della Neve), the Confraternity of the Most Holy Annunciation (Confraternita della Santissima Annunziata), the Ciabot 'd Gianduja, the Rose Garden of the Surprise (Roseto della Sorpresa) and the Big White Red Bench.
