History
The earliest historical records tracing the origins of Villanova d'Asti date back to the time of Ottone III of the House of Saxony, who donated a village named Corveglia to the monastery of San Felice of Pavia.
In Corveglia, the nuns gave a mandate to build a monastery, in whose surroundings developed a settlement later named Villanova della Piana.
Corveglia and Villanova are later sold to the municipality of Asti, and the territory takes the name Villanova d'Asti.

To be seen
The Bisocca of St. Martin and that of Supponito represented the two watchtowers, still visible today, located respectively south and north of Villanova's concentric.
The historic center of Villanova is dominated by the late medieval municipal tower.
Also interesting is the Church of the Confraternity of the Most Holy Annunciation (or Confraternity of the Batu) - Chiesa della Confraternita della Santissima Annunziata (o Confraternita dei Batù).
A few steps away, in the premises of the historic Palazzo Richetta, is the Labor Museum (Museo del Lavoro).
Moreover, worth seeing, are the parish Church of St. Martin (Chiesa di San Martino) and the parish Church of St. Peter in Supponito (Chiesa di San Pietro in Supponito).
Additionally, worthy of note is the De Robertis Castle (Castello de Robertis), a Franciscan convent converted into a castle.
The Shrine of Our Lady of Grace (Santuario della Madonna delle Grazie) is the scene of the famous Festa dell’Infiorata.
Finally, in the hamlet of Corveglia, we find the Castle of Corveglia, whose premises are now used for commercial purposes.
