The old parish church was demolished in October 1897.
The facade was facing to Via Maestra (now Via Roma).
The portal of the old Church, in sandstone, is placed inside the current Church, at the entrance of the cave of Our Lady of Lourdes.

The municipal project "I muri raccontano..." (The walls tell...) is a major camouflage of the town created by Luigi Amerio: through pictorial art, the walls and house facades represent Fontanile's past from the Middle Ages to the present day.
