In the summer, between June and July, the time of the wheat harvest and the consequent threshing came. In the village came the thresher, a big machine powered by a hot-headed engine, and all the farmers brought their harvest to thresh.

It was considered a time of celebration and it was customary, when threshing was finished, to provide a meal to both the threshers and the hired workers.

We’d freshen up and get to the table.

The municipal project "I muri raccontano..." (The walls tell...) is a major camouflage of the town created by Luigi Amerio: through pictorial art, the walls and house facades represent Fontanile's past from the Middle Ages to the present day.
