A waterfall to recollect that in the Middle Ages in this place there was the moat, a large gully full of water which used to surround and protect the village’s fortification.

In the highest part of the staircase there was standing Porta Soprana, equipped with a drawbridge.

The water depth at this point was about 10-12 meters.

The municipal project "I muri raccontano..." (The walls tell...) is a major camouflage of the town created by Luigi Amerio: through pictorial art, the walls and house facades represent Fontanile's past from the Middle Ages to the present day.
