The Cassa di Risparmio di Asti was established on January 25, 1842, and since the beginning it has been operating in the territory.
It opens its first offices on Wednesday, January 3, 1844, the first market day of the year.
On 13 July 1992 the Asti bank established the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Asti, implementing the Amato-Carli Law, which prescribes the separation of the purely banking activity from the institutional and disbursement.
On December 28, 2012, with the acquisition of control of Biver Banca (Cassa di Risparmio di Biella e Vercelli) it became the third Piedmontese banking group for territorial relevance.
On 1 October 2015, the acquisition of the majority stake in Pitagora S.p.A. was completed, reaching 70% of the share capital. Pitagora is one of the main financial intermediaries, specialized in the field of loans against salary-backed loans.
